Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
1 Corinthians 2:1-5 Psalm 112 I become paralysed by evil when I am deceived by its half-truths or outright lies. It is much easier to fear the shadows of the formless unknown than that which is clearly lighted and identifiable. Even when facing the horrors of torture and crucifixion, because he embraced the truth of his passion, Jesus was able to move through his fear by embracing the mystery of the absolute truth of his Father’s love, and trusting the hope of God’s promise of his resurrection. So many kinds of ‘evil’ threaten my life. But when I allow the Holy Spirit of God to firmly secure my heart in the life and obedience of Christ Jesus, I realize that I, too, can ultimately embrace the truth of Love and be unafraid of evil. Holy Spirit, secure my heart firmly in Christ Jesus, so I am unafraid of evil. Light rises in the darkness for the upright: gracious, merciful and full of truth. Psalm 112:4 God is a spring of living water which flows unceasingly into the hearts of those who pray. St. Louis de Montfort www.gospelmysteryoftheday.ca Soli gloriam dei.
