Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Hebrews 12:4-15 When the storms of life blow into and around our lives, it is time to remember that there is a rhyme and a reason for each experience we live through. In his three years of active ministry, Jesus endured many trials. He was constantly heckled by the religious leaders of his day, used by crowds of people as their healer with little thanks, and was eventually condemned to death by a crowd of bitter non-believers with no one to defend him. His public execution by crucifixion was the last and the biggest trial Christ Jesus endured. Yet even then, he remained faithful to the love and the mercy of God. When I endure, that is faith-full-y persevere, through the ‘iffy’ situations and trauma dramas that are the trials (and temptations) of my life, looking to Jesus for help and guidance, then my life can be shaped by his. Only then I am able to grow into full maturity as a follower of Jesus to become His disciple, loving and serving Him and his people here on earth. It is in this way that I am able to become, like him, a mature beloved son/daughter of God. Will I endure the trials that swirl around and into my life if only for the sake of discipline to learn and align myself with the faith-full-ness of the Saviour of the world, who is Christ the Lord? Holy Spirit of Jesus, help me endure trials for the sake of discipline. The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me by the still waters. He restores my soul. (Psalm 23:1-2) LORD YOU HAVE MY HEART Lord you have my heart And I will search for yours Jesus take my life and lead me on. Lord you have my heart And I will search for yours Let me be to you a sacrifice. And I will praise you Lord And I will sing of love come down And as you show your face We'll see your glory here.
