Holy Spirit, help me love God with my whole being ...
 
Waiting in a slow line up, carefully tending the garden, washing dishes, conversing with a child, praying into a rough relationship, struggling with bureaucratic red tape or a digital glitch... even these moments, in life, like all events and circumstances in which I find myself,  are opportunity to love God with my whole being. Instead of clenching the frustration, fear and grief of everyday happenings, I have a choice to dwell on God’s presence within and around me.  Instead of speaking words of vengeance and judgement, I have the opportunity to instead give God my sacrifice of praise.  Rather than acting out of haste and human passion, I can love the nature of God into being by letting my hands and feet move at the behest of the mercy of their Creator.  Today will my heart, mind, soul and strength –my being –proclaim sinfulness and the inadequacies of life, or, because of my love for God, enact the extraordinary mercy and the truths of our Creator? Holy Spirit, help me love God with my whole being. 
        
Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.  Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all day long.  (Psalm 25:1,2)
 
Prayer is the best weapon we have; it is the key to God's heart. You must speak to Jesus not only with your lips, but with your heart. In fact on certain occasions you should only speak to Him with your heart.
