Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Psalm 51
No matter how much others mock me for not aligning myself with the latest trends, marginalize me for taking my faith in God too for, or judge me for being wrong, the one whom I have truly offended is really only God. Similarly, no matter how ashamed I am of my own behaviours, my misdemeanours can be summed up as transgressions away from my true identity as a beloved child of God and follower of Jesus. It is enough that I have sinned against God, and done what is evil in his sight; all my transgressions stem from this flagrant turning away from the gaze of my heavenly Father. Today, how do I need to turn back to my God? How does my heart need to be cleansed? Holy Spirit, sustain in me a willing spirit! Have mercy, Lord, for I have sinned against you! With the Lord there is mercy; in him is plentiful redemption.(Psalm 119) You aspire to great things? Begin with the little ones. St. Augustine www.gospelmysteryoftheday.ca Soli gloriam dei.
