Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Acts 11: 21-26& Matthew 10:7-13
Life can be chaotic and confusing at the best of times as well as the worst of times. In the hurry and stress of every day activity it is easy to focus on everything else but the steady walk forward in the way of Jesus. When I steadfastly remain focused on the Lord, and aligned with his faithful mercy and grace, then my steps remain steady, firm and forward-going. Holy Spirit of God, help me remain faithful to the Lord with steadfastness. After fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off. (Acts 13:3 ) Soli ad gloriam dei

2 Corinthians 3:4-11 & Psalm 25
How do I know how God is leading me in life choices? When I follow God’s truth, which is agape love, I will learn the ups and downs, swamps and forests, pitfalls and highways of his paths through all life circumstances and events. Teach me your paths, my God, and lead me in your truth today and always. O Lord, I trust in your merciful love. My heart will rejoice in your salvation. (Psalm 13:5) Soli ad gloriam dei Tobit 12:1-13:17, & Mark 12:38-44
What is ‘true’? That which is true to God’s nature in me: those thoughts, words and actions that arise from truth, love, humility, faithfulness, justice, peace, healing and life itself. The story of Tobit provides a vignette of a life truly lived before God. The widow who put two coins in the treasury did what was true before God. Am I willing for all my thoughts, words and deeds to similarly be exposed in truth before God? Christ Jesus, help me do what is true before you. Bless God and acknowledge him in the presence of all the living for the good things he has done for you. (Tobit 12:6) Soli ad gloriam dei Tobit 2:9- 3:1 & Mark 12: 13 -17
It is easy to be good and holy at prayer, in mass, celebrating the sacraments, or reading scripture. But what of my relationships with my family or community? It is in family and other close relationships that the depth of my holiness is tested to be true or false, deep-seated or superficial. Do I, like Tobit, ‘become flushed with anger’ or do I practise charity and deeds of righteousness on the home front? Holy Spirit, help me walk my talk of holiness. May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten the eyes of our heart, that we might see how great is the hope to which we are called. ( Ephesians 1) Soli ad gloriam dei Tobit 1:2 – 2:8 & Mark 12, 1-12
In these days when many opportunities and technologies lend themselves to doing business, that is, exchanging money, it is more challenging than ever to use my resources wisely and to conduct my affairs with justice. As money and other resources come into my household, do I spend them justly, paying bills or working on projects for the good and just as I understand the Lord would have me do, or is my focus merely ‘looking after myself’? Holy Spirit, help me conduct my affairs with justice. For I resolved to live according to wisdom, and I was zealous for the good, and I shall never be disappointed.
