Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Isaiah 26:1-6 Sometimes the complexities of the challenges of life are so mesmerizing that they can indeed seem not only hopelessly tangled and overwhelming but also infinite. The truth, however, is that every human problem is finite and can eventually be unravelled. God’s mercy on the other hand is broad, far beyond human imagination or knowledge. Stretching out before me like the ocean, with its waves lapping at my feet, I realize that its depths and variations are indeed infinite. As I focus on and trust the immeasurable and creative mercy of God, so I find infinite and refreshing peace. Today will I trust my problems or the infinite mercy of God? Lord God, keep me in your peace as I trust in you. I was pushed hard so that I was falling, but the Lord helped me. (Psalm 118:13) Who except God can give you peace? Has the world ever been able to satisfy the heart? St. Gerard Majella www.gospelmysteryoftheday.ca Soli gloriam dei.
