Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Titus 1: 1-9 & Psalm 24
Whenever I malinger over memories, delicious or frightening as the case may be, whenever I mull over a decision or over-think my plans, I lift up my soul not to what is true, but to what is false. As I wander on these misty flats of life’s what ifs, and what should, would, or could be, I am not considering the truth, but the delusions and constructions of my over-active imagination. But when I lift up my soul to what is true, the deceits and falsehoods of the evil one fade into the background, and my soul has a chance to be restored. Then I can truly live the life of compassion and gentle joy that I am designed for, along with all the other saints down through the ages. Today am I lifting up my soul to what is true or to what is false? Holy Spirit of God, help me not lift up my soul to what is false. Who shall stand in his holy place? Those who have clean hands and pure hearts ... (Psalm 24:3,4) Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness. St. Teresa of Calcutta www.gospelmysteryoftheday.ca Soli gloriam dei.

Philippians 4:10 -19
Managing all that I have received from God –the people in my life, my work, my possessions both concrete and metaphysical –is full-time work! Yet I, like all children of this age, so often fall into the trap of envying the ‘more’ and ‘better’ things or attributes that others possess. The gifts I have received at the hand of God are innumerable. Do I take time to be grateful for what I have, or do I spend my time envying the possessions of others? Holy Spirit of God, help me be content with what I have. It is well with those who deal generously and lend... For the righteous will never be moved. (Psalm 112: 5, 6 ) Jesus loves you always, even when you don’t feel worthy. St. Teresa of Calcutta www.gospelmysteryoftheday.ca Soli gloriam dei. 1 Corinthians 15:20 -23 Adoration: Christ Jesus, I belong to you ... Intercession: Christ Jesus help N._____ to realize he/she belongs to you ... When I am unsure of who I am, I try to find belonging in human families, work places or other organizations. Then I am subject to the whims of individuals and rules of membership that can change suddenly and leave me alone and often isolated. But when I realize that I belong to Christ Jesus through the sacrament of baptism, I have an immutable position in life that can withstand any number of changes or challenges. Then I no longer have to ‘find’ someone or something to belong to. I can rest in the surety that I belong to the family of God. Do I know to whom I belong? Christ Jesus, help me -help my spouse, my friend, my children - realize that I/they belong to you. I was glad when they said, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!” (Luke 122:1) Love aright and you will never be sad. Embrace God’s will and you will be filled with joy and peace.
