Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Acts 4:1-21 It makes sense that when people witness the miracle of healing, or the evidence of a man raised from the dead that they would believe in the name of Jesus. Unfortunately, in the kingdom of the world, the flesh or the devil, it is not what makes sense, but what the populace feels - be it jealously, shame, hatred –that propels their actions. As much as the winds of change blow through the general population, feelings of contempt, confusion and control will sweep through the crowds and the judiciary and they will prey on those of us who are followers of Jesus, “the people who believe in Easter”, as we are tagged these days. If and when I am arrested for “spreading it among the people”, will I like Peter and John stand my ground as a follower of Jesus, and say, “I cannot keep from speaking about what [I] have seen and heard” ? Holy Spirit of Jesus, help me stand my ground as your follower. The Lord is my strength and my might; he has become my salvation... I shall not die, but I shall live, and recount the deeds of the Lord. (Psalm 118:2, 5) Actions speak louder than words. Let your words teach and your actions speak. St. Anthony of Padua Alleluia! Christ is risen indeed! Many ‘lively’ blessings be upon you and your family throughout these 50 days of the Easter Season! www.gospelmysteryoftheday.ca & Gospel Mystery of the Day on Facebook Soli ad gloriam Dei
