Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Psalm 69 Driving on dirt roads can be problem free, if a little dusty. But in the event of a sudden downpour, an otherwise smooth roadway becomes a quagmire of muck and mud, that clutches at the wheels of a vehicle, let alone an ATV or a bicycle. So it is in our lives. Often in the wake of a sudden and sodden traumatic event, our life’s path becomes slippery with muck and mud, and we run the risk of sinking into the mire of despair or self pity. Then we will require the help of Someone who is able to extend to us a plank of prayer or a tow with their own vehicle of experiences and wisdom. Am I prepared for sudden storms in my own life, and to circumvent, and help myself and others out of, the mire we encounter in our lives? Holy Spirit of God, rescue me from sinking in the mire. Do not let the mud flood sweep over me, or the deep swallow me up, or the Pit close its mouth over me. (Psalm 69:14-15) You will find it is necessary to let things go, simply for the reason that they are too heavy.
