Rev 18:1- 19:9 & Luke 21:21-28
The demise and crumbling of the world, whether economic, cultural, psychological, sociological or religious can so easily weigh us down that we forget to look at the horizon, let alone at the face of Jesus. When the ‘desolation has come near’ of the world and the flesh, Jesus counsels us to stand up and raise our heads, because our redemption is near. At any time when the world is crumbling around me, Christ Jesus, help me to stand up and raise my head to watch for the redemption of Jesus drawing near.
The Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
