Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Ephesians 4:32-5:8 Tender-heartedness is minimized by modern society that applauds affirmative, even aggressive, words and actions to promote the ideals of our day. Indeed having a tender heart is seen as weakness more than strength. Not so in God’s economy, where tender-heartedness is not only applauded but encouraged. As Christ Jesus ministered to human kind, great ‘riches’ and reputation became His as a result of his tender-heartedness towards the marginalized and the lunatics, the sinners and the dispossessed. For two thousand years, the stories of his Christ’s open-hearted mercy have inspired millions to praise him, and to turn to Him for help and inspiration. What opportunities to follow Jesus’ tenderness will I find among people today? Holy Spirit, help me to be tender-hearted so that I can open up to God, to others... and even to myself. When he laid his hands on her, immediately she stood up straight and began praising God. (Luke 13:13) Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love.
