Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Genesis 1:20 – 2.4 That human beings are made in the image of God is indisputable. Unfortunately humankind has always struggled with the power of free will. We each have the ability to choose evil over good – or good, over and above evil, choices. It is this freedom that leaves room for evil desires to take root in our lives, especially deceivingly ‘good’ desires like fame, fortune, belonging and success. What help is there for me as I face the confusing deceits of the ‘world, the flesh and the devil’? Thanks be to Christ Jesus for the gift of the Holy Spirit who is but a prayer away! Holy Spirit of God, let no evil desire control me, for your glory and love dwell in my heart, because I am made in your image. I live by faith in the Son of God, who has loved me and given himself up for me. (Galatians 2) Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul.
