Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
A Blessed and Joyous Christmas Season and a Happy, Healthy and Holy New Year to you and your family!
Numbers 6:22-27 & Luke 2:16-21
Could things have been anymore difficult for Mary and Joseph when Jesus was born? Yet, without a doubt the Lord was blessing Mary’s family, and indeed all of creation, with the presence of his only-begotten Son. Through his keeping God orchestrated the safe delivery of Jesus despite Roman oppression. In spite of the shadows of darkness and social unrest, His face was shining on her family – in Immanuel’s face as he suckled, in Joseph’s eyes watching over his family, and in the other-worldly joy of the shepherds. And peace? ‘Peace on Earth...,’ was the song of the angels. What Joy! What Peace! What Hope! When things are challenging and joyous over the course of this year, will I remember to consider the unshakable Grace of God? Holy Spirit of God, help me ponder your blessing, your keeping, your shining and your peace.
May God be gracious to us and bless us, and make his face to shine upon us. (Psalm 67)
When [God] takes your hand He keeps you tight.
When [God] keeps you tight He leads you through life.
When [God] leads you through life He brings you safely home.
