Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Ezekiel 2:8 – 3:4
Just as I have my own likes and dislikes for food and drink, so I have likes and dislikes for events in my life. Similarly, just as nutritious and healthy foods can seem sour rather than sweet, so events of life can at first seem repulsive. When I waste energy on rebelling against circumstances God has allowed to flow into my life, I have very little time or energy left to invest into obedience to God’s mercy. But when I accept the God-given roles and responsibilities that come my way, and bend my time, talents and treasures to God’s will, much mercy can flow into my life, and though me to others. Holy Spirit of God, help me not be rebellious but accept what you give me. Your decrees are my delight, they are my counsellors.... they are my heritage, the joy of my heart. (Psalm 119:103, 111) The world is your ship and not your home. St. Thérèse of Lisieux Soli gloriam dei.
