Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Such great spiritual wisdom and understanding await anyone who continually prays, taking time to listen to the Holy Spirit of God in each circumstance of life. As much as I am so attuned to God, I become filled with the knowledge of his will, and Christ’s perspective becomes mine. Then I realize that in God’s economy no pain and no joy are wasted. I can ‘be prepared to endure everything’ and ‘bear fruit in every good work’, ‘while joyfully giving thanks to the Father’, as I ‘grow in the knowledge of God’. Can I truly be content with this way of life? Holy Spirit of God, fill me with knowledge of your will.
How great is the goodness, Lord, that you keep for those who fear you. (Psalm 30:19)
But my prayer in the heart brought with it the clearing up of things I did not understand.
