Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
,
Deuteronomy 30:15-20 On either side of the path of life there lie pitfalls and swamps of death and adversity. As I let my mind grapple with injuries and injustices done to me or those I love, I step off the path Jesus takes, into the pitfall of un-forgiveness. And as much as I scheme and plan vengeful or self-gratifying activities, I find myself slogging through the muck of the swamp of despair. But I do have the option to follow Jesus closely along the path of life through relationships and other rigors of earthly existence, as he leads me to our heavenly home. Today, which do I choose: life and prosperity or death and adversity? Help me walk in your ways, O Lord. Happy are those whose delight is in the law of the Lord, who meditate on his law day and night. (Psalm 1:2) The more we receive in active prayer, the more we can give in our active life.
