Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
1 Kings 2:1-12
In King David’s time it was appropriate for him to encourage his son to walk before God, keeping statutes, commandments, ordinances and testimonies. But with the incarnation, when the Son of God became the Son of Man, we were called into a new relationship of faithfulness. We are called to walk with Christ Jesus, as his disciple and as a child of his Father. What kind of faithfulness do I see in Christ Jesus? How can I mirror his faithfulness as I walk with Him? Christ Jesus, help me walk with you in faithfulness.
Surely, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. For he has delivered me from every trouble. (Psalm 54:4,7)
Where love exists, it works great things. But when it ceases to act, it ceases to exist.
Saint Gregory the Great
