Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Matthew 15:29-37 Sickness and hunger are always only days, or even a couple of steps, away for each one of us. And so, there is never any lack of people within close range who are sick, in heart and mind if not in body, nor of individuals who are hungry, at heart for acceptance, in mind for truth, or in body for bread. The challenge is to constantly be the healing presence of Jesus to each person who is ill, and to provide good food for each hungry person we come in contact with. Am I present in spirit and generously available to minister to the sick, like Jesus? Do I have the same awareness and compassion for the hungry as Jesus? Christ Jesus, help me be like you: healing to the sick and nourishing to the hungry. He restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake. (Psalm 23:3) Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul.
