Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Romans 6:3-11 When I was baptized the way for me to live with Jesus was set out before me. My parents and God parents promised to bring me up with faith in Jesus, and many servants of God along the way have pointed me when I have strayed, back onto The Way of Christ Jesus – a path that includes carrying a cross, as the Master reminded us time and again during his ministry. Our yearly remembrance of the Passion of Jesus on Good Friday points me ahead to live into the sepulchre of Holy Saturday that represents my life on earth. I rouse from time to time in this ‘tomb of life’ where it seems sometimes that walls of rock separate me from the life of love, joy and peace that God designed me for. But as I learn to find Jesus in the dark and become more like him in love, joy and peace, the light that is his life in me breaks through, and I find myself blinking in the sunlight – the Son Light. Then I realize that no matter how hard and dark the world seems to be, the garden of the Resurrection of God’s Son courses around me and through me into the measureless love of God. Will I curl up into a ball and keep my eyes closed when life become dark, or will I peer through the darkness to find the glorious light and love of Jesus, the Living One? Christ Jesus, as I die with You, let me like You live in God. The Lord is my light and my salvation: whom shall I fear? (Psalm 27:1) We become what we love, and who we love shapes what we become. St. Clare of Assisi A Blessed and a Happy Easter season to you and your Family! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Christ is Risen and gives is with us always!
