Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Acts 18:1-8
It is relatively easy to find things, or a person, in the light. But in the dark, I have to grope my way along the path, relying on senses other than sight to lead me on. So it is when I seek God and the gift of life he holds out to me. At times I can see him, even if it is in the far distance. But when I am in the dark night of sadness, fearfulness or anger, I have to grope my way to him. The good news is, the grace of his Holy Spirit leads me on by bringing me God’s ‘scent’ through my prayers, and the mercy of Christ, that I feel through his steady hand on my shoulder, remain sure as much as I notice them. As I search and grope for you, Lord God, help me find you. The heavens are telling the glory of God.. Day to day pours forth speech. (Psalm 19:1) Pride makes us artificial and humility makes us real.
