Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
Within weeks of the Resurrection of Jesus, Peter and John were teamed up with one purpose in mind: to point everyone they ran into, to Jesus. Beggars, the man on the street, the woman at the market, the old, the infirm, the rulers of the people – all were subjected to the message. This Jesus who was crucified, whom God raised from the dead, is the one in whom there is salvation, they proclaimed. Do I believe in the resurrection and salvation of Jesus enough to point people to him? Christ Jesus, help me point the people I meet today to you.
God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. (John 3:16)
The Gospel of Jesus is very clear: we need to go back there, to see Jesus risen, and to become witnesses of his Resurrection.
