Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path. (Psalm 119)
We now know that the branch of a grapevine has the same DNA as the main stem. Similarly, made in the image of God as we are, each human being is designed to live into the ‘DNA’ of God, the truth and love of God, that flows through us as it did through Jesus. When I am true to my ‘spiritual template’ I come to know, and to show, the mercy of God. Then my life will naturally bring forth the fruits of the Holy Spirit –love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness and self-control. The more ‘holy’ fruit my life produces, the more firmly attached I become to Jesus, who is the one true vine of abundant life. Christ Jesus, help me live in you as you live in me.
I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord; with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations. (Psalm 89:1)
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be afraid.
Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace
